Sugarmatty’s came about after its founder dedicated his life to glassblowing full-time after working in SugarDaddy’s smokeshop in Boston, MA, for six years. After being a part of the customer experience while selling and buying glass and seeing most of the masterpieces in the shop ignored for the cheaper pipes, founder MattyJ decided to create his own affordable and functional works of art that people would feel proud to use.
When was Sugarmatty’s Founded?
in 2002, Matty dedicated all of his time to the art of glassblowing, and with the addition of his apprentice Joe in 2015, the two are creating incredible pieces with flashes of both of their styles. Now, the team consists of 5 artists “with experience levels ranging from 1 week to 15 years”, and they “specialize in a wide variety of functional glass.”
